Native Arts

I was just reading an article the other  day and coincidentally I found this art work from a Filipino artist. I’m a lover of arts and I find these arts  beautiful, unique and interesting,  A very fascinating and very hard work of art.  So unbelievable, so unique and amazing, how one could paint on banana stalks. And the one thing how to preserve these works of art.

Interesting arts  … Painting  on Banana Stalks, painted  by Alvaro Jimenez.

Philippine Painting on Banana Stalks.. It never cease to amaze people of the craftsmanship of Alvaro Jimenez not only in his Letra’s Y Figuras but also in his paintings intricately made on banana stalks canvass. Years of practice and dedication brought him to mastering this art form

1.A Mother and Child Painting by the window sill. A lovely Filipina Mother on native baro at saya with her young daughter. If you would look closely, you will see the fine lines and the texture of the banana stalks which indeed could add more challenge in the process. However, blended with the color combinations and fine details of the portrait from the subject to the design of the dress and the background, all in all it is a splendid Philippine Painting by Alvaro Jimenez.

2.Another Mother and Child Painting with the Filipina Mother on native Baro at Saya and her baby boy.Baro meaning a blouse and Saya  a skirt. An old Filipino woman costume.

  3. That’s talent!!! Art has its own value, and that value comes from the appreciation it gets from the people. I really like these, I can see why you do too.
